Many prices improved briefly

Last week provided opportunity for some growers to achieve their target prices and sell more grain, however those improvements in prices were often sporadic, unpredictable, and only lasted a brief time.

This meant many growers and their agents that did not offer their grain for sale at the price they wanted, missed the opportunity to sell grain at those prices.

We regularly get calls and emails from growers and their agents after a short rally hoping to sell at the prices that were achieved earlier that day.

Don't react to price movements and miss opportunities to sell. Be proactive by setting your sell price and impact market prices.

Grain sold through CGX averaged $14.20/t above best published bids last week, some grain traded up to $80/t above advertised buyer prices.

The price growers set on CGX impacts the price grain trades not just on the exchange, but across the broader Australian grain market.

So far this season 3,513 growers have offered grain for sale and sold 10,113 parcels of their grain at prices they were targeting.

All growers should be offering grain for sale on an independent exchange and helping to set market prices rather than sitting on the side-lines and reacting to prices buyers advertise.

The more Australian growers offering grain for sale, the greater say growers have on the price grain trades!

There are plenty of buyers for Australian grain, make it easier for them to try and buy your grain.

Don't just sell into published bids or prices on cash boards which can weigh down prices, growers have a say in prices so offer your grain for sale at the price you want to all buyers and impact price!

Growers can create demand for their grain! The simple act of offering grain for sale creates so much value for growers and the grains industry.

There's no downside and your grain regularly sells at prices growers and their agents didn't know existed.

The intent of CGX is try and get as many buyers as possible to try and buy growers grain, and growers can control this by offering grain for sale.

That's how you get as many buyers as possible trying to buy your grain, not just for this season, but for future seasons creating a more sustainable industry for growers.
