igrainX now trades grain of all qualities

Growers can now describe the quality of their on-farm grain and offer it for sale to all buyers, even if it doesn't meet an industry body grade.

If you’re unsure of the quality of grain required to meet a grade, you can now view them directly when adding grain to your CGX account by clicking ‘View grade specifications’ once the commodity is selected.

If your grain doesn't meet the specifications of a GTA grade, simply select that option and describe the quality of the grain.

Users simply select whether their grain meets an industry grade or not. If not, simply describe the grain quality by entering relevant quality specifications.

For a trade and resulting contract to occur, bids and offers must share the same quality parameters and must also meet the required specification limits. For example, a bid with a minimum protein of 11% will match an offer with minimum 11.2% protein, but not one with 10.5% if all other parameters align.

Users can provide as much detail as required to describe their grain. Often more detail can yield more value.

This release enables more users and their grain to benefit from the market efficiencies and security an independent exchange provides.
