Look Out!

  • Wishing everyone a safe, happy and damp 2024.

  • Wheat markets up last night.

  • Corn, beans and Winnipeg canola all off.

  • Almost time to hang up the boots for 2023 with only 1 more trading night to go.

  • As I reflect on the year, I think my funniest lines were;

  • This one when I was looking at wheat stocks held by the majors:

  • “We have around 70 days of wheat left before we all die, apart from the gluten intolerant people, who will dance on our graves”.

  • How about when the markets were all Ranga Red.

  • “Ranga’s are not popular, and Prince  Harry is doing nothing to improve that image”.

  • And who could forget the leaders meeting in March this year to discuss Aukus and nuclear submarines.

  • “Then just for a bit more spice to world tensions, Tennis Albo, “Joe Biden his time”  and the UK Prime Minister give the bird to China”.

  • Did any other ones tickle your funny bone or bring a smile to your dial? If so, let CGX know, and they will pass onto me and we will incorporate into next week's reflection on 2023.
