Markets mixed last night with no major changes.
However, that little piece of paper we trade on the East Coast, the Jan ASX wheat futures contract was up another $4 settling at AUD $407.
The Argie crop keeps getting smaller, now forecast to be around 14.30 million tonnes. The USDA called it 16.50 million tonnes last week.
The Brazilian corn crop is 41% planted, which is slightly slower than last year.
The forecast is a mixed bag for Brazilian corn with the USDA at 129 million tonnes and Conab’s forecast of 119 million tonnes.
The El Nino will impact some areas of Brazil which could affect their corn production. This will play out over the next few months.
