What price do you want for your grain?

Wheat was stronger, everything else flat.
China tells the US to remove tariffs if it wants China to purchase US beans.
Trump said the US would give proceeds from tariff revenues to farmers. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins is weighing up an aid program modelled after the approach taken by the previous Trump administration, when farmers were given billions to offset losses from a trade war with China. This is not good for global grain prices.
Weather forecasters predict a Sudden Stratospheric Warming (SSW) event in Antarctica which could be a game changer for the IOD and less favourable for Spring moisture. It may lead to extreme weather in Spring, strong southern cold fronts (which may be dry if they don’t connect with some moisture from the Indian Ocean), storms, very windy and less rain for southern Australia, potentially stretching inland into NSW and QLD. This is why I don’t put too much stock in longer-term weather forecasts…too many variables that can’t be modelled. Roma is getting up to 37 degrees this coming week, Moree to 34 degrees so summer is on its way. Temp remaining mild in the south with some showers in the forecast 5-10mm for upper cropping areas of SA/VIC, heavier in the south.
Not much else to say domestic grain markets are sombre.
Enjoy the footy!
